환불 규정 (한국어)

1. 서비스 제공방법 및 기간: 결제 완료 후 즉시 레슨이 계정에 등록되어 바로 예약하실 수 있으며, 수업은 확정된 예약 시간에 제공됩니다. Zoom을 통한 1:1 화상 수업(50분)으로, 현재 시각 이후부터 30일 이내 가용 슬롯에 대해 예약 가능. 구매한 레슨은 구매일로부터 3개월 이내에 예약하시는 것을 기본 이용기간으로 하며, 기한 7일 전 이메일로 안내드립니다. 연장은 횟수 제한 없이 무료이며 기한이 지난 뒤에 요청하셔도 됩니다(이메일 한 통이면 됩니다). 예약 가능한 슬롯이 부족했거나 튜터 사정으로 수업을 하지 못한 기간은 요청 없이도 그만큼 연장해 드리며, 그 사유로 환불하실 때는 해지 수수료를 받지 않습니다. 3개월이 지나면 연장을 요청하시기 전까지 새 예약만 잠시 멈춥니다. 미사용 레슨이 없어지는 것이 아니며, 연장을 요청하시면 바로 다시 예약하실 수 있고, 환불을 원하시면 아래 4항 기준에 따라 환급해 드립니다.

2. 무료 체험: 결제 없음, 환불 해당 없음.

3. 1:1 수업 취소: 수업 12시간 전까지 취소하시면 그 회차가 사용되지 않은 상태로 계정에 돌아갑니다(수수료 없음). 돌아오는 것은 회차이고 현금 환급은 아래 4항이 정합니다. 12시간 이내 취소와 노쇼는 그 회차를 사용한 것으로 봅니다. 다만 3항이 4항의 해지·환불 권리를 제한하지 않으며, 남은 미사용 회차는 언제든 4항 기준으로 환급받으실 수 있습니다. 튜터 사정으로 취소된 수업은 회차가 그대로 돌아가며, 해지를 원하시면 4항 기준으로 해지 수수료 없이 환급해 드립니다.

4. 레슨 구매 청약철회 및 중도 환불: 구매일로부터 7일 이내 미사용 레슨 전액 환불 가능 (사유 불문, 전자상거래법 제17조). 또한 수업이 광고한 내용이나 약속한 내용과 다르게 제공된 경우에는, 위 7일과 무관하게 전자상거래법 제17조제3항에 따라 그 수업을 받은 날부터 3개월 이내, 그 사실을 아셨거나 알 수 있었던 날부터 30일 이내에 청약철회하실 수 있으며 이때 해지 수수료는 받지 않습니다. 7일 이후에도 언제든 해지·환불하실 수 있습니다. 환급액은 다음과 같이 계산합니다.
환급액 = 미사용 레슨 금액 × 90%
(미사용 레슨 금액 = 결제 금액 − 사용한 레슨 수 × 결제 단가, 해지 수수료는 그 10%)
예) 8회 ₩400,000 결제 후 3회 사용 시: 미사용 5회분 250,000 에서 10%를 뺀 ₩225,000 환급. 전부 사용하신 경우 환급액은 0원이며, 어떤 경우에도 추가로 청구하지 않습니다. 사용한 레슨은 정가가 아니라 실제로 결제하신 1회당 금액으로 계산합니다. 해지 수수료를 받지 않는 경우: 위 7일 이내 청약철회, 아직 한 번도 수강하지 않으신 경우, 그리고 튜터 사정으로 수업을 제공하지 못한 경우에는 수수료 없이 전액 환급합니다. 환불은 신청일로부터 3영업일 이내 원 결제수단으로 처리합니다. 원 결제수단으로 환급이 불가능한 경우에는 협의하여 다른 방법으로 지급해 드립니다.

5. 3항과 4항의 관계: 3항은 이미 예약한 개별 수업에 관한 규정이고, 4항은 패키지 전체를 해지하실 때의 규정입니다. 12시간 이내 취소나 노쇼로 소진된 회차는 4항 계산에서 사용한 레슨으로 봅니다. 3항이 4항의 해지·환불 권리를 제한하지는 않으며, 남은 미사용 회차는 언제든 4항 기준으로 환급받으실 수 있습니다.

6. 양도 금지: 구매한 레슨은 구매하신 본인만 사용할 수 있으며, 타인에게 양도·재판매할 수 없습니다. 이 조항은 위 4항에 따른 환불을 제한하지 않습니다.

7. 준거법 및 분쟁 해결: 이 계약은 대한민국 법률을 준거법으로 합니다. 다만 이 선택으로 국제사법 등 적용 법령에 따라 소비자에게 보장되는 거주국의 강행적 보호가 배제되지는 않습니다. 재판관할은 적용 법령에 따르며, 특정 법원을 전속관할로 정하지 않습니다. 소비자께서는 한국소비자원 등 관계 기관에 상담 또는 피해구제를 신청하실 수 있습니다.

We want every student to feel confident booking with KickstartKorean. Here is our service terms and refund policy.

1. Service Method & Availability Period (서비스 제공방법 및 기간)

  • Service delivery time (서비스 제공 시점): Lessons are added to your account immediately after payment is completed, so you can book right away. The lesson itself is delivered at the time you book.
  • Delivery method: All lessons are conducted as private 50-minute video sessions over Zoom with Gyuhun S. The Zoom link is emailed to you once your booking is confirmed.
  • Scheduling window: Lessons can be scheduled for any available slot from the current time up to 30 days in the future, with a maximum of 1 lesson per day per student.
  • Booking window: lessons are normally booked within 3 months of purchase, with an email reminder 7 days before. This is a default period, not an expiry date.
  • Extensions are free and unlimited: ask any time, including after the 3 months have passed. One email is enough. If there were not enough slots for you to book, or we could not teach, we extend by that long without being asked and waive the cancellation charge if you would rather have a refund.
  • Nothing is forfeited: after 3 months your unused lessons stop being bookable until you ask, but they are not taken away. Ask for an extension and you can book again, or ask for a refund and it is calculated exactly as in section 4 below.
  • Not transferable: Lessons are for the student who bought them and cannot be transferred or resold. This does not limit your right to a refund under section 4 below.

2. Free Trial Lesson

The free trial lesson requires no payment, so no refund is applicable. Simply apply using the form on the homepage and Gyuhun will be in touch within 24 hours.

3. 1-on-1 Lessons

Cancellation 12+ hours before the lesson

Cancel or reschedule at least 12 hours before the scheduled start time and the lesson returns to your account unused, at no charge. What comes back is the lesson, not the money. If you would rather be paid out, that is section 4, and it applies to whatever is unused at any time.

Cancellation less than 12 hours before the lesson

A cancellation made less than 12 hours before the lesson uses that lesson. This exists to respect the time reserved for your session. It does not limit section 4: whatever is still unused can be refunded under it at any time.

No-shows

If you do not attend without prior notice, the lesson is used, the same as a late cancellation. This does not limit your right to end the package under section 4.

Lesson cancelled by Gyuhun

If Gyuhun cancels a lesson for any reason, the lesson returns to your account unused and you may reschedule. If you would rather end the package, section 4 applies with no cancellation charge at all.

4. 7-Day Withdrawal Right (청약철회권)

Full refund within 7 days, no questions asked.

Under Article 17 of the Korean Electronic Commerce Act (전자상거래법), you have the right to withdraw from a lesson purchase within 7 days of the purchase date and receive a full refund of any unused lessons.

  • Within 7 days of purchase: you may request a full refund of any unused lessons, no reason required.
  • If a lesson was not what we advertised or agreed: separately from the 7 days, Article 17(3) of the Electronic Commerce Act gives you three months from receiving that lesson, and 30 days from when you knew or could have known, to withdraw. We charge nothing in that case.
  • After 7 days: you can cancel and request a refund at any time. The amount is:
    refund = the value of your unused lessons, less a 10% cancellation charge on that amount
    Your unused lessons are what you paid minus the lessons you have taken, counted at the per-lesson price you actually paid rather than the standard single-lesson price. The charge is 10% of the unused value, so it can never exceed what is being returned, and you are never billed anything extra: if you have used everything, the refund is simply zero.
  • When we charge nothing: the 7-day withdrawal above, any cancellation before you have taken a single lesson, and any lesson we could not deliver. In those cases you get everything back.
  • Worked example: on the 8-lesson package at ₩400,000 (₩50,000 each), if you have taken 3 lessons, 5 are unused and worth ₩250,000. Less the 10% charge, ₩225,000 is refunded.
  • Refunds are processed within 3 business days of the request, to the original payment method. Where a refund to the original method is not possible, we agree another way with you rather than withholding it.

5. How Sections 3 and 4 Fit Together

Section 3 is about one lesson you have already booked. Section 4 is about ending the package. A lesson lost to a late cancellation or a no-show counts as a lesson taken when section 4 is calculated, and section 3 never limits your right to end the package: whatever is still unused can be refunded under section 4 at any time.

6. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund for a 1-on-1 lesson, contact us by email as early as possible:

  • Email: kickstartkorean@gmail.com
  • Include your name and the purchase or booking date. A reason is optional and never affects whether you get the refund.
  • Refunds are processed via the original payment method (PayPal, card, or bank transfer) within 3 business days

7. Governing Law and Disputes

This agreement is governed by the law of the Republic of Korea. That choice does not remove any mandatory consumer protection you are entitled to where you live. Jurisdiction follows the applicable law rather than being fixed to one court, and you are free to bring a complaint to the Korea Consumer Agency (한국소비자원) or an equivalent body.
